Aaron Ong
@ 2015 IEEE ICRA

"I had the pleasure to speak with many interesting people and learn how their projects worked. My professor was a co-organizer of the soft-robotics workshop. He knew many of the thousands of the attendees. I was able to network with many people that he knew and did not know. Lastly, I got to briefly meet 'big-name' people in robotics such as Daniela Rus (MIT CSAIL Director), Dean Kamen (DEKA, Segway inventor) and Conor Walsh (Harvard, Exosuits)"

Daneesha Kenyon & Delara Fadavig
@ San Diego Venture Summit 2014

“At this event, my co-founder and I were able to talk to different venture capitalists and entrepreneurs at different stages of securing venture capital. It was a great learning experience that I would not have been exposed to in a traditional class. It will be invaluable on the path to developing our own startup business, and as students we can use all the help we can get!â€

@ Clinton Global Intiative University 2015

“At this conference we not only had the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals from all over the world, but were also able to present the progress of our project, Lotus. This was a truly inspirational and informative weekend, and the advice I received from both panelists and students working on similar projects was truly priceless.â€

@ Newspace 2014

"I was able to network a tremendous amount and had a really great time making connections with professionals and other students alike. The best part of the conference was talking to so many other people that had similar interests and were inspired by my talk. Being a student, it's difficult to pay for these once in a lifetime opportunities. But I'm so grateful that I was chosen to do just that!"

Kristi Chu
@ AlChE 2014 Regional Conference

“This scholarship helped fund 33 UCSD undergraduate chemical engineers to the Regional AIChE Conference Car Competition, which was hosted by UC Davis - 9 hours away from San Diego. At the conference, ChemE Car was able to network with other collegiate chemical engineers and learn more about start-ups. There was an amazing speaker by a CEO of his own start-up company, and he was giving a lot of advice on how to start your own company. A member of our party competed in the undergraduate research competition and won 2nd place; he competed against 2 Stanford undergraduates. And lastly, our ChemE Car "Tritonium" competed in the regional conference, placing 6th overall!â€

Thomas Arnold
@ AIChE Western Regional Conference

"This opportunity enha need all of our student's ability to network with both professionals and intelligent students from other universities. It was a great opportunity for everyone to learn more about the variety of science possible within chemical engineering and have a great time watching their success pay off before their eyes."

Harrison Kamiya
@ Engineers for a Sustainable World

“I had an amazing time at Northwestern University, just outside Chicago, Illinois. I was exposed to a variety of student-run projects that inspired me to begin another project this quarter. I got to hear great speakers such as the Director of Sustainability from Dow who made great strides in the chemical industry and continues to make a difference. Professionally, I saw myself for the first time as an actual engineer because I was explaining and understanding material outside of the context of UCSD and a classroom and I had a great time!â€

Amrita Chimni
@ SWE National Conference 2014

"This opportunity was a great way to get exposure to the world of engineering. I felt empowered as a women in the tech industry for once. I was able to hear many personal stories of successful women engineers that traveled from across the globe to attend.
