Frequently Asked Questions from Incoming Engineers

Follow your Enrollment Checklist found within your Admissions Applicant Portal.Ìý

Make sure you are checking your Â鶹´«Ã½ email. Here, you will get information from your departments and colleges such as upcoming dates and enrollment information sessions. Make sure to attend your orientations, whether offered virtual or in-person.

New Triton Advising will open for you in mid-June. You can log into to complete New Triton Advising. After completing this, you will be able to go in and select "Ask a Question" to reach out to your advisors.Ìý

Not really. Each student is admitted into a College, as well as a School. You will live within your College and complete General Education requirements provided by your College. Your School houses your major department and major course requirements.Ìý

So, for example, you might be a student admitted into Sixth College as a Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Major...and the CSE departmentÌý is housed within the Jacobs School of Engineering. You are both a Sixth College student and a Jacobs School of Engineering student!

However, know that a majority of majors within the Jacobs School are "Selective" or "Screened." .

This might require you to talk to an advisor before mid-June! In which case, contact yourÌýandÌýÌýto see what your options are.Ìý

There are also great summer transition programs you can look into, which not only give you a head start on your degree, but also provide a great support network before your first Fall. Learn more below:

Your Fall enrollment will not happen until August. Keep your eyes on your email for more information from your departments and colleges to prepare you. The Â鶹´«Ã½ Registrar team is working hard to transfer your credits over. Until then:

  • Review your academic history.
  • Check assist.org for transferrable college credit from a California Community College
  • Review AP/IB credit charts
