Admission to Âé¶¹´«Ã½ as a freshman does not guarantee the ability to switch into engineering and computer science majors at the Jacobs School of Engineering. Due to high demand, all engineering majors at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ are considered "selective" for incoming freshman applying for enrollment, which means additional screening procedures are in place. Transfer StudentsÌý

For transfer students applying to engineering majors, note that all engineering majors are selective majors, meaning that admission to Âé¶¹´«Ã½ does not guarantee admission to these majors. Admissions for all incoming transfer students to Âé¶¹´«Ã½ is managed by the campus-wideÌýÌýwhich has aÌý.

Continuing Students: ChangingÌýMajorsÌý

Due to high demand, all engineering and computer science majors at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ are which means additional screening procedures are in place for current non-engineering students wishing to switch into an engineering or computer science major.

Beginning with the Summer 2025 continuing student application cycle, students will be able to apply to engineering and computer science majors once per year (between Summer and Fall quarters).ÌýÌýNote that space will be limited and acceptanceÌýtoÌýthese majors is not guaranteed.ÌýÌý
