Cisco is seeking to hire a team of 2-3 interns that will initially be trained on the basics of making software accessible to people with disabilities. This will cover areas of varying needs, including low-vision, blind, hard-of-hearing, deaf, and mobility impaired. Additionally, the interns will learn how to use WebKing, a commercial testing tool, to evaluate the accessibility of software code. The next step will include evaluation of the accessibility of key internal software tools used by Cisco employees to do their jobs, such as expense reporting, time/vacation reporting, opening IT/HR support cases, etc. After identifying the accessibility gaps int eh software tools, the team will assist in making recommendations on how to improve the accessibility, including areas such as software code changes and user interface look/feel changes. The team will also perform evaluations of cost/benefit analysis, industry bench marking and comparison analysis, and productivity impacts. Although this project is defined, each member of the team will take part in determining the path of this project.

Looking for 1-2 Computer Science students (undergrad or grad) and 1 MBA student. Students must have a strong background in the degree they are pursuing, collaborate with teammates and colleagues, and be highly motivated.

Entropic is seeking two electrical engineering students for this team internship.

Skills required for developing and deploying the SFF CTN are varied but can be organized into two internship projects. Both internships include hardware and software skills, but one internship biases towards hardware while the other biases towards software.

Job Description #1: Hardware Bias

The hardware biased branch of skills calls for an individual who has introductory knowledge of RF Engineering, Communications Engineering, and Software Engineering (ordered by importance).

This position will be co-responsible for the development and deployment of a high speed data communications systems channel emulator in a team based corporate environment. During the planning phase, the PHY systems intern will be responsible for developing low level hardware, RF, control, and cost budgets. During the implementation phase, the intern will be responsible for sourcing, tuning, assembling, and testing RF components for the purposes of building a prototype of the channel emulator. During the deployment phase, the intern will be responsible for transitioning the design to production by drawing assembly diagrams/instructions and by writing production, characterization, calibration, and maintenance plans from which automated test software will be developed. In addition, the PHY systems intern will coordinate closely with PHY systems engineers to ensure that the channel emulator is integrated into the overall PHY systems test bench.

Required skills/experience:

NAVAIR In Service Support Center (ISSC) at North Island provides engineering support to the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) aircraft production programs. These programs include the F/A-18, E-2C, C-2A, and various rotary wing aircraft programs, as well as associated repair & modification of aircraft components and manufacturing of necessary critical parts.

The Advanced Aircraft Technology IPT and the Manufacturing Quality Branch intend to develop an interactive manufacturing process flowchart software program for FRCSW Local Process Specifications (LPSs) that will allow the user to select the manufacturing process flow for a given aircraft part. Once a process flow is selected, the program will perform various functions that facilitate generation and support of manufacturing of the part. Project includes exploration of various options for user interface and implementation, as well as a means for users to link processes across multiple LPS documents. The team will generate flowcharts for existing LPSs, then apply the above program as a proof of concept demonstration. The ultimate goal is a viable system that is well documented and can be readily expanded to include additional types of documents such as local policy instructions.

Specifically, students will work with data gathered from Itron OpenWay hardware and software platforms to identify data reliability, system connectivity, loading trends and predict design modifications based on modeling, field tests and data analysis of existing SmartMeter and CISCO data bases.

Project will require independent analysis of data to produce forecasts of transformer loading, distribution circuit voltage profiles, and develop analytical tools to evaluate sectionalizing device loading and compare the performance of the prediction models to actual field measurements and loading conditions with an emphasis in correcting Transformer Load Management (TLM) errors.

The current FSD is capable of analyzing only one of at least four different types of laser data. Additionally, the current system does not place the results into a hierarchy. Intern 1:

Objective: Upgrade the capabilities of the current FSD system to include use of all available logging information (current system only uses one type of log). An appropriate model needs to be developed for testing, from one (or a combination) of the following: an existing predominate risk (construction type) identified in multiple locations an existing common retrofit measure a new concept for loss mitigation of potential soft-story damage The goal of the Project is to prepare a feasibility study for performing a shake-table test of the selected model (including costs, timing, criteria and other requirements). The approach is anticipated to consist of testing the selected predominate risk with retro-fit/mitigation measure in place, then testing without mitigation, for purposes of comparison of performance and evaluation of benefit.

Two Structural Engineering students are needed with knowledge in the following:

- light-frame wood construction

- shake-table experimentation

- seismic analysis and detailing/design

- familiarity with seismic behavior and risk levels nationwide

- ability to access seismic records as a basis for future testing

- knowledge of building codes- especially 2009 IBC and IRC.

The goal is that this project will continue on a part time basis into the fall quarter. So please only apply if you have an interest in continuing to work in the fall. You will continue to get paid for the work that you do.

For the month that students will travel to Illinois:

Flight, housing, and local travel costs will all be paid by State Farm.

Payment: State Farm will be paying students at an hourly rate for the work they do here at UCSD and for the work they do in Illinois.

0. Development of Software to Process and Analyze 3D DataÌý-ÌýALL STUDENT OPENINGS HAVE BEEN FILLED
TetraVue is in the process of developing high resolution 3D cameras and other 3D capture technologies. By delivering the best of digital imaging and 3D capture technologies, TetraVue's products will have a significatn impact on the burgeoning 3D entertainment and data markets. This product will be able to capture Megapixel 3D images with complete depth information in real time.

An important task is to process the stream of 3D and image data that is being generated in the camera. Tetravue is seeking a team of 2 students to work on software development and data processing.

Work will include: visualization of the raw 3D data, implementing image processing algorithms, and processing of data into standard 3D formats such as 3DS, Maya, CAD, etc.

Students should be proficient in imaging hardware, computer programming, 3D software or algorithm development. Hands on experience with optoelectronics is a plus.

Applicants must be US Citizen or permanent residents.
